The Eté des Peintres de Montagne

From 2nd July to 27th August 2006trigalet.jpg

Guest of honour

Danièle TRIGALET, a painter in search of an ideal.

Although her roots are in the north of France, Danièle Trigalet has been in the Alps for 25 years, living and working in Grenoble. trigaleti01.jpg
Painting has been part of her life since she was a youngster, as she remembers so well: “Even when I was a little girl at school I was interested in painting. I continued with drawing, working in black and white. When I moved to Grenoble I found very different colours and new landscapes - I had discovered the mountains.
Soon, Danièle started to take part in competitions in the region; showing her watercolours of aquatic landscapes.
Today, she uses a mixture of watercolours and pastels.  For a number of years she has exhibited her work at Champagny-en-Vanoise and taken part in the “Eté des Peintres de trigaleti03.jpg Montagne” at Notre Dame de Bellecombe.
The rest of the year she teaches in Grenoble, where she has opened a workshop.  Let her tell you about her art in her own words: "The paintings express what I would like to be and I would like to be what the paintings express.. That is the ideal to strive for!

Catalogue CATAL.JPG

The catalogue presents 38 of the 56 artists exhibited in 2004. After several pages devoted to the guest of honour, including a splendid Chalets de Miage, the catalogue provides an A to Z (André to Zecchinon) overview of the artists involved. The variety of the themes and techniques is a tribute to the painters and celebrates the mountains, thereby fulfilling one of the objectives of our exhibitions.
These paintings depict Notre Dame de Bellecombe and Val d'Arly, as well as other areas of the Alps. Format 21 x 23, on sale at the exhibition: €13 (Available from the Tourist Office).

Inauguration  inauguration.jpg

Saturday 2nd July 2005, preview and opening of the "Eté des Peintres de Montagne" exhibition in the presence of Mr Hervé Gaymard,  Mr Georges Ajoux, President of the SIVOM and several political figures from the Haut Val d'Arly.

"The opening of this salon is characterised by two values: variety and quality.
Variety of techniques and inspiration: watercolours, oils side-by-side with acrylics, ink drawings, etc.
Inspiration has been provided by an eclectic range of subjects: Bellecombe with its bulbous bell tower remains a classic but other mountain landscapes sit alongside still lifes, street scenes or snapshots of everyday life.
The work is of incontestable quality, in terms of composition, colours, nuances and styles."   Courtesy of the “Dauphiné Libéré”.

A book of art devoted to our valley!

As a record of local heritage and traditions, and an account of couvphoto.jpgthe common history of the Valley's inhabitants, this book is a true memorial.  In collaboration with Christian Burdet, a watercolour artist whose reputation throughout the Alpine valleys speaks for itself, Editions Glénat have used their expertise in pubishing mountain-related works to produce a beautiful book. They will also ensure its nationwide distribution.
The book includes a preface by Mr Gaymard, Vice-President of Savoie “Départemental” Council and Minister of Agriculture, and a postscript by Mr Brusson, geographer and architect at Sallanches. It was produced with support from the Val d'Arly SIVOM. This skilfully printed and superbly illustrated large-format (260 x 260mm), hard-cover volume will long remain a document of reference for the valley.

On sale at the café-tobacconist in Notre Dame de Bellecombe, or at the “Eté des Peintres” exhibition.
